The story of The Last Guardian shares a lot of thematic elements with older Team Ico games. How it is connected to these titles is unknown at this time, however.
Storyline[]
The story follows an unnamed boy attempting to escape the ruins of a large castle. The game focuses primarily on the developing relationship between the boy and Trico, a massive feathered creature. The name of the creature, Trico (トリコ Toriko) has several possible meanings, including prisoner (虜 toriko), baby bird (鳥の子 tori no ko), and a portmanteau of bird and cat (鳥猫 tori, neko).
